Hurricane Isaac
As of 12:00 pm EST, Hurricane Issac was upgraded from a Tropical Storm. A hurricane warning is in effect from east of Morgan City, Louisiana to the Louisiana/Mississippi border.
Hurricane Isaac made landfall last night carrying 80 mph winds and dropping more than a foot of rain in SE Louisiana. Just one day shy of the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, this slow moving storm has New Orleans residents on high alert.
The Red Cross is in action throughout the Gulf region, providing shelter and help. Nearly 2,400 Red Cross disaster workers have been deployed already.
